A luxurious layered dessert featuring fresh strawberries, rich chocolate ganache, and a crunchy pistachio-tahini kataifi filling.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups kataifi pastry, chopped
  • 6 tablespoons pistachio butter
  • 1 tablespoon tahini
  • 1/4 cup whole pistachios, chopped
  • 1 cup aerosol whipped cream or 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 oz dark chocolate melting wafers

Instructions

1. Cut the kataifi into short pieces. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the kataifi. Toast for 8-10 minutes until golden brown, stirring constantly.

2. Turn off the heat and mix in the pistachio butter and tahini until fully combined. Set aside.

3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the whipped cream and dark chocolate wafers. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir until smooth and glossy. If needed, microwave in additional 15-second intervals.

4. In dessert cups, layer sliced strawberries, drizzle with chocolate ganache, and add a spoonful of the kataifi mixture. Repeat the layers as desired.

5. Top with chopped pistachios and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute butter with coconut oil and use dairy-free whipped cream. Ensure the kataifi is well-toasted for maximum crunch.
