Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground chuck (80/20)
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 12 slices American cheese
- 6 burger buns
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Onion
- Pickles
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Mayonnaise
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion powder, salt, and pepper; mix gently to combine.
2. Divide mixture into six patties, about 3/4″ thick.
3. Preheat grill or cast‑iron skillet to high heat.
4. Cook patties for 2 minutes per side. Flip, top with 2 slices of cheese each, and cook another 2-3 minutes for medium.
5. Remove patties and let rest for a few minutes.
6. Toast burger buns if desired.
7. Assemble burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and desired condiments. Serve immediately.
Notes
• Do not overmix the beef to keep patties tender. • Let cooked patties rest briefly before assembling to retain juices. • Adjust toppings and cheese to preference.
